On International Men’s Day, Leyland focused on men’s mental health, reinforcing the company’s commitment to colleague wellbeing and fostering a supportive workplace culture.
As part of the day’s activities, Leyland interviewed psychodynamic counsellor Elliot Chapman, who provided valuable insights into breaking down stigma surrounding men’s mental health and accessing meaningful support. The discussion encouraged honest conversations, highlighting the importance of seeking help early and supporting one another, and was shared with colleagues internally. To offer further support, Leyland also launched in-person counselling taster sessions, offering colleagues the chance to experience how these services work.
In addition to partnering with Elliot Chapman, Leyland teamed up with Russell Payne, also known as ‘The Talking Tradesman,’ for an internal video campaign. A passionate advocate for mental health in the trade industry, Russell shared his thoughts on how being ‘strong’ doesn’t mean staying silent when it comes to mental health, and how true strength lies in breaking the silence and having an open conversation.
Leyland continues to champion a workplace culture where every colleague feels valued, supported and able to talk openly about their wellbeing. To keep the conversation going, colleagues were encouraged to check in with a friend or coworker and share a message of support.
