Cygnum Timber Frame has opened an €8m factory extension at its headquarters in Macroom, Co Cork, expanding its manufacturing capacity to support the delivery of new homes across Ireland.
The extension will increase annual production capacity from approximately 1,400 to 2,500 housing units and will support the planned creation of up to 150 jobs over time.
Cygnum designs, manufactures and installs timber frame structures for residential developments and is a significant contributor to Ireland’s offsite construction sector. The expanded facility incorporates advanced manufacturing technologies and increased digitalisation, enabling greater efficiency, precision and more sustainable use of materials.
Patrick Atkinson, chief executive of Chadwicks Group, said: “The expansion is a clear demonstration of Cygnum's ambition and capability, and increasing capacity to this level is a significant step in supporting the delivery of new homes at the pace and scale required.”
